Winnipeg Fringe Festival Summer Wedding
I had the opportunity last summer to be a part of a really unique wedding. I met Cathy-Anne through my regular day job and had met Justin shorty after. They were probably one of the most laid back and easy going couples I’ve had as clients thus far, and they really wanted a unique venue to be the backdrop of their wedding day. Cathy-Anne had pitched the idea to me of getting married on stage at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival where Justin and Cathy-Anne had first met years ago. Of course I jumped on board right away and was fair game to anything she had planned.
The day progressed as a typical wedding day would, starting at the brides home and getting ready with her ladies. From there though, things would get different real quick. We then headed over to the outdoor stage (a.k.a The Cube) and headed to the back stage area. Here we sat and relaxed for about an hour before taking the stage for the actual ceremony in front of the public, but more importantly, close friends and family. Justin and her best friend who was officiating took the stage and had a good couple of laughs before they said their vows to each other. Afterwards we headed to the rooftop nearby to take some beautiful sunset photos. Overall, just a fun filled day and unique one at that, thanks Cathy-Anne and Justin!
Andrew + Meaghen: Gender Reveal
Such a fun summer afternoon with Andrew & Meaghen and their close friends and family for this gender reveal. I loved the bright colours that they used for their table settings and it just gave that little pop in the pictures. I remember asking Meaghen if she wanted a boy or a girl and of course she gave the typical answer “as long as they’re healthy, it doesn’t matter to me”. Then Andrew came around and said he wanted a boy he could play sports with. Of course, Andrew got his wish! When those streamers popped out of those containers, you could see the reaction on his face, just check out the photos below if you don’t believe me.
Goodluck Meaghen, boys are going to rule the house for the next little while…
Spring Engagement at Trappist Monastery Park
Devan & Sidney wanted something unique for their early spring engagement session. They right away told me that they wanted to somehow incorporate their Jeep into their engagement photo shoot as it had meant a lot to them during their time together. Such a fun afternoon with these two!
These Jeep photos are some of my favourite photos ever taken to this day!
Styled Engagement Shoot at La Barriere Park
This was early on in my “build my portfolio” stage in my photography career. So I asked my good friends Chloe and Remy if they would get dressed up and venture to La Barriere Park on a nice fall afternoon. We got so lucky with the beautiful weather, the leaves and just the overall ambiance of the park itself was just perfect. Definitely a favourite spot of mine to do family or engagement sessions.
Mother & Son Mini Photoshoot at Birds Hill Park
My good friend Lindsay wanted to get some baby photos with her new 3 month old Forrest back in 2018. Of course having the name Forrest, it was pretty easy to pick the location of the shoot. We needed lots of green trees and earthy tones for this photo shoot. Birds Hill Park is always a picture perfect spot for great photos any time of the year.
Note to self: Shoot more at Birds Hill Provincial Park
Family Photoshoot at the Baseball Diamond
Elly & Matt met while they were playing on the same baseball team. Elly and I were suffering through nursing school together during this time as well. It was just something fun that we would do to get away from pulling our hairs out the other 6 days of the week in school. So it was only right that Elly, Matt and their dog Marshall got together and did a baseball themed family photo shoot. Marshall was actually pretty well behaved from what I can remember. It probably had something to do with the handful of treats that we were giving him too.
