This session is how we meet before your wedding day.
Engagement sessions are all about having fun, feeling relaxed, and celebrating your love in a way that's natural and true to you. No pressure — just laughter, sweet moments, and maybe a little adventure.
You'll get comfortable in front of the camera, and I'll learn more about your unique connection — which makes your wedding photos even more effortless and authentic.

Dress it up — one level above casual. Neutrals, textures, no logos. Full outfit guide below ↓
I check the forecast 1–2 weeks out. If the weather isn't cooperating, we'll reschedule together for a date that works for both of us — no fees, no stress.
Dress it up — not over the top, just one clear level above what you'd normally wear. That small shift changes everything in photographs. Here's everything else worth knowing.
Creams, whites, warm taupes, dusty blues, sage greens, soft blush — these tones photograph beautifully and age gracefully. Bold saturated colours draw the eye away from your faces. Neutrals let the light do the work.
Wear ivory, champagne, dusty rose, warm grey, slate blue
Skip bright red, neon yellow, hot pink, electric blue
You don't need to wear the same colour or the same style. What works is a shared tonal family — pick two or three colours that complement each other and stay within that range. Matching exactly can feel stiff. Coordinating feels natural and intentional.
Fabric texture photographs beautifully — linen, cashmere, silk, knitwear, suede. These catch light and add depth without distracting. Busy patterns and fine stripes create visual noise that pulls focus away from you.
Great linen blazers, silk dresses, soft knits, suede boots
Avoid busy florals, fine stripes, logo tees, loud plaid
Even a small logo can catch the eye and immediately date the image. These are photos you'll look at for decades — clean, plain pieces stay timeless. A graphic tee you love right now can feel like a costume ten years later.
Light layers in fall and winter add depth and tell a story. A scarf, a jacket you take on and off, a great pair of boots — these details add something real. In summer, linen and flowy fabrics move beautifully in a breeze. Let the season show.
A second look can completely change the feel of your gallery — especially if we're shooting for 90 minutes or more. It doesn't have to be formal. Pack it in a bag and we'll decide together how the session is flowing.
The best outfits are the ones you feel genuinely comfortable and confident in. If you look great in the mirror and feel like yourself, that comes through in every photo. Use these rules as a framework — but wear something that makes you happy to be there.
