Pineridge Hollow
Wedding Photography

Garden estate. Perennial grounds. A venue that feels like it's been growing toward your wedding day for decades.

Pineridge Hollow sits in Pine Ridge, Manitoba — approximately 40 minutes north of Winnipeg on Highway 8 — on a property that has been cultivated over many years into one of the most distinctive garden wedding venues in the province. The perennial gardens that serve as the ceremony grounds are not recent plantings. The trees are established, the rock gardens are mature, the flowering beds return richer each spring. There is genuine depth to the landscape here, and it reads in every photograph.

The outdoor ceremony takes place in the heart of those perennial gardens, with guests seated on the lawn surrounded by blooms and established plantings. A driftwood and floral arch frames the couple during the vows, with the garden estate architecture visible in the background. The light in the garden — filtered by the tree canopy, soft and directional — is ideal for photography across the entire afternoon. In May and June, when Pineridge Hollow is at its fullest, the ceremony space is simply beautiful.

The white canvas pavilion reception hall completes the picture. Arched windows frame the garden outside. Wooden cross-back chairs and a wooden dance floor carry the natural materials through. String lights run the full length of the ceiling. Pineridge Hollow is a full-service venue — they coordinate the table decor, food, and lighting in-house — which means the cohesion between the ceremony garden and the reception pavilion is seamless. As a photographer, that integration makes everything easier. You are not working against the space. The space is working with you.

The Venue

Why Pineridge Hollow photographs beautifully

The Perennial Garden Ceremony Grounds

The perennial gardens at Pineridge Hollow are the venue's defining photographic asset. Unlike venues with newer plantings or manicured lawns that could be anywhere, these gardens have character that comes from years of careful cultivation. Rock gardens with decades of growth. Flowering beds that have been filling out and spreading season after season. Established borders that frame the ceremony aisle naturally, without any arrangement on the photographer's part. When a couple stands at the driftwood arbor, the garden is not a backdrop — it is a genuine landscape, and the photographs reflect that distinction.

The Established Trees & Rock Gardens

The mature trees on the Pineridge Hollow property create the kind of light that photographers plan their whole portrait session around: dappled, directional, soft enough to be flattering at midday, and warm enough at golden hour to be extraordinary. The rock gardens provide natural framing — textured stone and cascading plantings that add depth and grounding to portrait compositions. Moving a couple from the open ceremony lawn to the shade of the tree line to the pavilion exterior produces three distinct visual environments without ever leaving the property, and each one reads completely differently in the final gallery.

The White Canvas Pavilion

The canvas pavilion at Pineridge Hollow photographs differently from most Manitoba reception spaces. The white ceiling creates a soft, even diffuse quality of light during the day — particularly through the arched windows — that is flattering and consistent. At night, the string lights warm the white canvas from above, and the arched windows reflect the garden darkness outside while holding the warmth inside. The wooden cross-back chairs and wooden dance floor carry the natural materials through the whole space. Reception coverage in a venue like this is easier: the light is consistent, the geometry is clean, and the details — florals, glassware, candles — photograph against a background that doesn't compete with them.

The Golden Hour on the Property

In late May and through the summer, the Pineridge Hollow property at golden hour has a quality I look for at every outdoor venue and rarely find this consistently: the light arrives from a low angle through the tree canopy, the garden is fully in bloom, and the whole property turns warm and soft in a way that makes couple portraits feel effortless. I typically carve out portrait time before dinner begins specifically to use this window. Fifteen to twenty minutes of golden-hour portraits at Pineridge Hollow — moving from the tree line to the garden to the pavilion exterior — produces the strongest frames of the entire day. It is worth building into the timeline deliberately.

Tara & Carter — A May garden wedding in Pine Ridge

Tara and Carter married at Pineridge Hollow on May 24, 2025 — one of those spring days where the garden is fully in bloom and the light has that particular quality of being soft and generous at the same time. The ceremony was in the perennial garden, with three flower girls in full-length blush pink leading the processional. They were impeccably serious about it for approximately fifteen seconds, at which point one of them made a face at the camera and everyone in the garden laughed. It was the moment of the ceremony.

Tara walked in wearing a white ball gown with a lace bodice and a full tulle skirt that moved with her through the garden. Carter was in a navy three-piece suit with a burgundy tie to match the dahlias in Tara's bouquet — a peach and burgundy palette that ran all the way through the florals, the bridesmaids, and the reception table decor. After the vows, we moved through the property for couple portraits: the tree line, the rock gardens, the pavilion exterior. By the time dinner was served in the canvas pavilion, the light through the arched windows was warm and evening-soft, the string lights had taken over from the sun, and the flower girls had reorganized the dance floor for their own purposes.

It was exactly the kind of day Pineridge Hollow is built for: romantic, garden-grounded, full of genuine light and genuine joy.

Weddings & Photography

Is Pineridge Hollow a good wedding venue in Manitoba?

Pineridge Hollow in Pine Ridge, Manitoba is one of the most distinctive wedding venues in the province. The property offers a full-service experience — venue, table decor, food, and lighting all coordinated in-house — and the perennial garden ceremony grounds are genuinely beautiful: established trees, rock gardens in bloom, lush plantings that have been maturing for decades. The white canvas pavilion reception hall is airy and elegant. For couples wanting a garden-estate aesthetic without leaving Manitoba, Pineridge Hollow is exceptional. Visit pineridgehollow.com for availability and packages.

What is the outdoor ceremony space like at Pineridge Hollow?

The outdoor ceremony space at Pineridge Hollow is a well-established perennial garden with mature trees, rock gardens, and lush plantings throughout. Guests are seated on the lawn between the flowering beds. A driftwood and floral arch frames the couple during the vows. The natural light in the garden is soft and filtered by the established tree canopy — which is ideal for photography. The garden feels curated but not over-manicured; there's genuine character in the plantings.

What is the reception pavilion like at Pineridge Hollow?

The reception pavilion at Pineridge Hollow is a white canvas tent structure with arched windows, wooden cross-back chairs, a wooden dance floor, and string lights throughout. The white canvas ceiling creates a soft, diffuse quality of light during the day, and the string lights warm the space beautifully at night. Pineridge Hollow coordinates the table decor, food, and lighting in-house — which means everything is cohesive and well-executed. The arched windows frame the garden outside and allow natural light throughout dinner service.

What are the best photography spots at Pineridge Hollow?

Pineridge Hollow has four strong portrait locations: the perennial garden itself (established trees and rock gardens as natural framing), the pine and poplar tree line along the property edges (dappled natural light, very romantic), the garden estate architecture (the white board-and-batten buildings with glass-panel doors, particularly beautiful for first look and bridal party portraits), and the canvas pavilion interior at golden hour (the arched windows create beautiful directional light). I recommend at least 45 minutes for couple portraits across two or three distinct locations.

How far is Pineridge Hollow from Winnipeg?

Pineridge Hollow is located in Pine Ridge, Manitoba, approximately 40 to 45 minutes north of Winnipeg via Highway 8. Many Winnipeg-based wedding vendors — photographers, florists, DJs, hair and makeup artists — are very familiar with the route and regularly work at Pineridge Hollow.

How far in advance should we book a Pineridge Hollow wedding photographer?

I recommend reaching out 12 to 18 months in advance of your date. For May and June dates in particular, demand is very high. Reach out through the inquiry form and we can check availability together.
